Oracle APEX Tutorials
As we’ve recently started work on our first big APEX development, it was my task to train up a group of our Oracle Forms developers. Training took the form of a two day course, where I provided an overview of what APEX is, explained why we’ve chosen to use it and then provided practical training to allow them to start development. Obviously there have been a few questions along the way, but really the developers have been able to develop using APEX since the course finished.
I think the Oracle By Example is brilliant. We started with this on day one and took our time discussing what we were doing as we went along. We didn’t cover the printing section as we didn’t have this set up on our environment and we stopped after we’d created users as we’ve created our own authorization scheme so restricting access using an Access Control Page was not of relevance to us.
However, the Oracle By Example only got us part the way there. So for the rest of the course we worked through examples that I have written to demonstrate some of the more complex areas that I knew we would be using. Although basic these examples gave the group an understanding of what could be achieved in APEX and how to use some of the more complex features. I will be adding these examples to this blog over the next few weeks. Hopefully these will be as helpful to others as they were to us.
