Did I Miss the Memo? Where is the DHTML List Template?

Did you know the DHTML List (Image) with Submit template has been replaced by the Pull Down Menu with Image template? I’ve not checked all the themes, but certainly the ones we use no longer have this list template.

I’m sure this must have been mentioned elsewhere, or in the APEX 3.1 release notes, but for now I can’t seem to find any reference to it. You’ll probably all correct me and send me links where this is well documented.

I only noticed this by chance. We use our own theme that is a copy of the Sand (theme 10) theme. This was developed at 3.0.1 and of course, when we upgraded to 3.1, the templates in this theme will have stayed the same. However, I’ve been asked to develop a demo application to display some of APEX’s finer features. To do this I created a new application, used the Sand theme (I like it, it’s different) and was totally stumped when the DHTML List (Image) with Submit template wasn’t there.

It’s not the end of the world; I found the Pull Down Menu with Image template fairly quickly but for a good few minutes I thought I’d lost the plot! Finding a replacement template was made slightly more difficult as the template I really needed was Pull Down Menu with Image (Custom 1), not even the main Pull Down Menu template.

Change is always difficult, not least when it’s unexpected. The main thing to remember is not to panic. :-)
